The Somali Congress of Trade Unions (SOCOTU) warmly welcomed Mr. Zafer Eşki, Head of TİKA (Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency) in Somalia, to its headquarters in Mogadishu today.
This visit highlights the growing cooperation and solidarity between SOCOTU and TİKA in promoting the rights and opportunities of Somali workers and their families. During the visit, Mr. Eşki toured SOCOTU headquarters as well as the Somali Technical and Vocational Training Institute (SOTTI), an affiliate of SOCOTU dedicated to equipping workers with vital skills and knowledge.
SOTTI plays a pivotal role in empowering Somali workers, students, and youth through training and qualifications in areas such as:
• Vocational and Technical Skills
• Business Studies
• Information Technology and Computer Studies
• Fine Arts
These programs provide Somali youth and workers with the tools needed to secure decent employment, enhance livelihoods, and actively contribute to the reconstruction and development of the nation.
SOCOTU and TİKA are committed to working hand-in-hand to strengthen vocational education, expand opportunities for Somali workers, and ensure that the next generation is prepared to build a fair, prosperous future.
The visit of Mr. Zafer Eşki underscores TİKA’s dedication to international solidarity, supporting Somali trade unions in their mission to defend workers’ rights, create jobs, and empower the youth of Somalia.
