The celebration of the 12th anniversary of the Somali Congress of Trade Union (SOCOTU) and the 6th year milestone since the construction of the SOCOTU headquarters. The event was graced by the presence of Deputy Commissioner of Banadir Region for Social Affairs, AbdiAziiz Osman Mohamed, who expressed his appreciation for the organization\’s impactful work in the community. Our Secretary General, Dr. Hussein Mumin, emphasized the continued commitment to serving the people and striving for positive change in the region. Together, we look forward to even greater achievements in the years to come. SOCOTU has played a crucial role in advocating for workers\’ rights, fostering unity among various trade unions, and contributing to the economic development of Somalia.

Finally SOCOTU president Mohamed Osman Haji took part in the event over the phone and he was grateful of Hakis and Tika Somalia for building a headquarters for SOCOTU. He continued his speech with \”Please receive greetings of solidarity from the executive council and affiliated unions of The Somali Congress of Trade Unions (SOCOTU). It is indeed a great honour for us to say thank you for the brotherly support that you have offered us. Dear brother your organizations has instilled in us courage and you have revitalized our energies to serve our workers and the people of Somalia.

Your union has significantly contributed to the growth and development of our young union and you have opened the doors for international organizations to realize the potential that Somalia has. You have defeated odds and proved that Somali workers are worth of any support.\”
