Najma Ahmed Khalif, as the Head of the Parliamentary Affairs & Advocacy Department at the Somali Congress of Trade Unions and a dedicated member of the Women’s Committee, is joining hands with women around the globe to commemorate International Women’s Day in a powerful act of solidarity with the women of Palestine.
In a world grappling with numerous challenges and crises, the burden falls heavily on societies everywhere, especially on the resilient women of Palestine who endure the heart-wrenching loss of loved ones, the relentless attacks, and the dire scarcity of basic necessities like food, water, and electricity. Yet, amidst these hardships, they cling to hope.
It is imperative that we stand in unwavering solidarity with them, amplifying their voices and advocating for their rights. Within the framework of fostering international solidarity among unions, HAK-IŞ has chosen to mark this year’s International Women’s Day with the theme ‘‘Solidarity with the women of Palestine’’ on March 6, 2024, at ATO Congresium – Ankara.
Najma urges us all to join this vital cause, to be a beacon of support for the courageous women of Palestine, and to reaffirm our commitment to justice, equality, and peace for all.
